»Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl Tokubetsu-hen« ist ein TV-Special, das nach dem Abenteuer in Sinnoh spielt und zeigt, was Lucia und Rocko erlebt haben, nachdem sie sich von Ash getrennt haben.

Die erste Episode zeigt Lucia, wie sie wieder nach Hause kommt und sich entschließt, als Nächstes nach Hoenn, dem Ursprungsort der Koordinatorenkämpfe, zu reisen. Doch welches ihrer Pokémon soll sie dorthin mitnehmen? Während sie sich nicht entscheiden kann, brechen die Starterpokémon aus dem Labor aus und nun liegt es an Lucia und ihrer neuen Freundin Shinko, sie zurückzuholen.

Die zweite Episode behandelt Rocko, der wieder zurück nach Vertania City zu seiner Familie geht. Doch dann taucht eine offizielle Pokémon-Inspektorin auf und die Arena von Vertania City droht, ihre Lizenz zu verlieren und im schlimmsten Falle sogar geschlossen zu werden. Jetzt liegt es an Rocko und seinem kleinen Bruder Forrest, der in Rockos Abwesenheit der Arenaleiter war, die Arena zu retten!
