Description

Towards the end of the Heian period, a powerful yokai named Shaga lives in the forests near Mount Kurama. At the age of 330, she feels that something should change in her life, which is completely incomprehensible to her younger sister Ayame. When the young Ushiwakamaru is pursued by assassins of the Heike clan in the forest, Shaga decides to intervene in favour of Ushiwakamaru. Shaga wants to support the people and yokai in need. The god of the forest gives her permission to leave the forest and embark on a new path in life. Ushiwakamaru’s mother asks Shaga to escort her son to Hiraizumi in Oshu. Thus begins the great adventure!
Gegen Ende der Heian-Zeit lebt ein mächtiges Vogelyokai mit dem Namen Shaga in den Wäldern nahe dem Berg Kurama. Mit einem Alter von 330 Jahren hat sie das Gefühl, dass sich etwas in ihrem Leben ändern sollte, was für ihre jüngere Schwester Ayame jedoch nicht nachvollziehbar ist. Als der jugendliche Ushiwakamaru von Attentätern des Heike-Clans im Wald verfolgt wird, beschließt Shaga, zu Gunsten von Ushiwakamaru einzugreifen. Shaga will die Menschen und Yokai unterstützen, die in Not sind und Hilfe brauchen. Der Gott des Waldes erteilt ihr die Erlaubnis, den Wald zu verlassen und einen neuen Lebensweg zu bestreiten. Ushiwakamarus Mutter bittet Shaga, ihren Sohn nach Hiraizumi in Oshu zu eskortieren. Damit beginnt das große Abenteuer!
