Puss’n Boots Travels Around the World (1976)

The puss in boots Pero has made a bet with the rich pig Gourmont that he will manage to travel around the world in just 80 days. The stakes in this gamble are high: if he succeeds, Gourmont must hand over his entire fortune to Pero; if he fails, Pero will become Gourmont’s slave for the rest of his life. Unfortunately for Pero, Gourmont is not playing fair, as he sends his assistant, Dr Garigari, after him to stop Pero at all costs from completing the journey in time. Pero is also being chased by three tomcats. However, Pero, who is joined by his friends, the giant Kato and the brave little mouse, refuses to give up. Can he make it in time and win the bet?

Der gestiefelte Kater Pero hat eine Wette mit dem reichen Schwein Gourmont abgeschlossen, dass er es schaffen würde, in nur 80 Tagen um die Welt zu reisen. Der Einsatz bei diesem Wagnis hoch: Im Falle eines Erfolges muss Gourmont sein gesamtes Vermögen an Pero übergeben; im Falle eines Misserfolges wird Pero für den Rest seines Lebens zum Sklaven von Gourmont. Und zu Peros Pech spielt Gourmont nicht gerade fair, denn er schickt seinen Gehilfen Dr. Garigari hinterher, der Pero um jeden Preis aufhalten soll, die Reise rechtzeitig abzuschließen. Außerdem wird Pero von den drei Katertieren gejagt. Trotzdem gibt Pero, der von seinen Freunden, dem Riesen Kato und der tapferen kleinen Maus, begleitet wird, nicht auf. Kann er es rechtzeitig schaffen?

Sinopsis:
En ésta su tercera aventura, el Gato con Botas se encuentra trabajando como camarero en un restaurante de Londres donde se ha dado a conocer como Tacho y ha encontrado a su nuevo amigo Hipo, torpe cocinero pero fiel y servicial compañero. Cómo no, también es apreciado por los ratones del lugar que prestan a Tacho toda su ayuda. Durante una conversación en el restaurante con el director del London Times y otros comensales, el snob y maleducado millonario Puerquett impone de malas formas su opinión sobre la imposibilidad de dar la vuelta al mundo en 150 días, pero Tacho, al tanto de la conversación, interviene e insiste en que él podría realizarla incluso en tan sólo 80. Puerquett apuesta toda su fortuna contra la esclavitud de por vida de Tacho ante este reto. Pero nuestro protagonista tiene otros problemas aparte de ganar la apuesta ya que nuevamente aparecen sus tres imparables perseguidores gatunos dispuestos a liquidarle. Esta circunstancia es aprovechada por Puerquett para enviar a un ruin sicario, el Doctor Gori-Gori, a ayudar a los tres gatos a quitar en medio a Tacho, asegurándose así de ganar la apuesta.
