Mit 34 hat er den Reichtum seines Vaters geerbt, nachdem dieser ihm kurz vor seinem Tod vergeben hat. Inzwischen ist Yonosuke 57 Jahre alt geworden.

Nachdem er mit einem reichen Kaufmann gewettet hat, dass er es schaffen wird, mit der berüchtigtsten Kurtisane von Edo, der schönen und gebildeten Komurasaki, zu schlafen, ist er doch etwas nervös. Denn er hat nicht weniger verwettet als seine Männlichkeit und die edle Dame ist bei weitem nicht leicht zu bekommen.
