Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live (2013)

“Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live” is about Naru Ayase, an ever-optimistic middle school student who is now looking for an internship. It’s a good thing that the clothing store Prism Stone is offering a suitable position because Naru wants nothing more than to be able to pursue her hobbies, such as decorating and styling, as a profession. On the way to the job interview, an egg hops out of her handbag, and a little pink penguin named Lovelyn hatches out of it, but the day is supposed to hold even more new things for Naru …

At the store, there is the next surprise: part of the job interview is a performance of a so-called Prism Live as part of a Prism Show, but of course, Naru has no idea about all this. However, thanks to her newest companion Lovelyn, her special ability to recognize the colour of a song and unexpected support from a girl she doesn’t know, she can land the job.

Naru soon gets other colleagues, the cheerful Ann and the serious Ito, who all want to become Prism Stars. But you don’t become a star overnight, so in addition to debut appearances, the first real highlight is soon to come: the Dreaming Session, a competition for teams of three. How will the three do there? And above all: how far will they get on their way as Prism Stars?

»Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live« handelt von der immer optimistischen Mittelschülerin Naru Ayase, die nun einen Arbeitsplatz ein Praktikum sucht. Da trifft es sich gut, dass das Bekleidungsgeschäft Prism Stone gerade einen passenden Posten anbietet, denn Naru wünscht sich eigentlich nichts mehr, als ihr Hobbys wie beispielsweise Dekorieren und Styling als Beruf ausüben zu können. Als auf dem Weg zum Vorstellungsgespräch ein Ei aus ihrer Handtasche hüpft, schlüpft daraus ein kleiner rosafarbener Pinguin namens Lovelyn, doch der Tag soll noch mehr Neues für Naru bereithalten …

Im Geschäft gibt es die nächste Überraschung: Teil des Vorstellungsgesprächs ist eine Aufführung eines sogenannten Prism Lives im Rahmen einer Prism Show, doch von alledem hat Naru natürlich keine Ahnung. Dank ihrem neuesten Kompagnon Lovelyn, ihrer besonderen Fähigkeit, die Farbe eines Liedes zu erkennen, und unverhoffter Unterstützung eines ihr unbekannte Mädchens kann sie den Job aber ergattern.

Naru erhält mit der fröhlichen Ann und der ernsthaften Ito bald weitere Kolleginnen, die allesamt Prism Stars werden wollen. Doch ein Star wird man nicht über Nacht, und so steht neben Debüt-Auftritten auf bald das erste richtige Highlight an: die Dreaming Session, ein Wettbewerb für Dreierteams. Wie werden sich die drei dort schlagen? Und vor allem: wie weit kommen sie auf ihrem Weg als Prism Stars?
