An einem verschneiten Abend wird Claras geliebte Nussknacker-Puppe von einem Rudel Ratten entwendet. Als Clara die Ratten verfolgt, findet sie sich im farbenfrohen Reich der Puppen wieder. Durch den Fluch der weißen zweiköpfigen Rattenkönigin verzaubert, schlummert dort in tiefem Schlaf eine Prinzessin. Um die heimtückische Magie zu brechen, ziehen die Puppen gegen die Ratten in den Kampf.
