Als die Nadesico durch ein Wurmloch eines Chulip in den Normalraum zurückkehrt, tauchen sie genau in einem Sektor auf, in dem gerade ein Kampf zwischen den Erdstreitkräften und den Jovians tobt. Einen Graviton Blast mit breiter Streuung später ist das Gebiet zwar erst mal feindfrei, dafür aber auch einige verbündete Schiffe mehr oder weniger beschädigt. Auch den Kommandanten des Flottenverbandes an Bord der Gladiolus hat es etwas angesengt, worüber er ganz und gar nicht erfreut ist.
