Itaro ist der Sohn von Haruko Samonji und Erbe der Samonji-Familie (Samonji Corporation => Firma) einer der berühmtesten Familien Japans. Er hat sich in den Kopf gesetzt, Miki zu seiner Frau zu machen und hält sie auch gegen ihren Willen bei sich fest. Des Weiteren versucht er Umibozu in Mikis Augen schlecht dastehen zu lassen. Er gibt sich elegant und selbstsicher, aber wenn es hart auf hart kommt, sucht er Schutz bei seiner Mutter. Ein Muttersöhnchen wie er im Buche steht. Miki zu betören oder sie gar mit seinem Reichtum zu beeindrucken funktioniert nicht, wie er sich es vorgestellt hat. Itaro hat überhaupt nicht mit Mikis Widerstand gerechnet.
