Die weißen Affen von Inuhiko Saruwataris fliegender Insel sind keine gewöhnlichen Tiere. Sie besitzen einen menschlichen Verstand und können außerdem mittels Düsentriebwerken in ihrem Rücken fliegen. Die Instinkte eines Affen wohnen ihnen dennoch inne und der Professor sieht in ihnen daher fälschlicherweise auch nicht mehr als solche und betrachtet sie daher als gescheiterte Experimente. Dabei sind »seine« Affen nicht nur wirklich gutmütige Wesen, sondern betrachten ihn als ihren Gott und Meister, um den sie sehr besorgt sind, weil sie seine Frustration aufgrund seiner Einsamkeit bemerkt haben.
