Dieser Mann sorgt im Onsen-Ressort der Soumas, welches von Ritsus Mutter geleitet wird, fürs leibliche Wohl. Er ist unverkennbar mit der Pensionswirtin verwandt (sie ist seine Kusine), wie sich alsbald anhand seines in gleicher Weise wie bei ihr gestörten Verhaltens erkennen lässt. Die kleinste Unregelmäßigkeit beim von ihm zubereiteten Essen, und sei es auch nur eine lauwarme Suppentasse, nimmt er gleich zum Anlass, sich vor Scham und Schande verkriechen zu wollen und entschuldigt sich ebenso theatralisch wie übertrieben; kurzum, er verliert völlig die Fassung aufgrund einer Nichtigkeit, welche die Gäste selbst noch nicht einmal bemerkt hatten.
