Shin’ichirous Großvater war in die Forschung von dessen Vater Koutarou eingeweiht, der an der Entwicklung von Androiden arbeitete. Als sich Militärs für sein Projekt zu interessieren begannen, nahm er seine Forschungsergebnisse und tauchte damit unter. Ohne Gennosukes Kenntnisse hätte Shin’ichirou vermutlich die zufällig in seine Hände gefallene Androidin Arisa gar nicht reaktivieren können.

Der alte Opa ist noch ziemlich rüstig um nicht zu sagen äußerst kämpferisch, hat ein Faible für merkwürdige Superheldenkostüme und scheint irgendwo ein ganzes Arsenal schwerer Waffen gelagert zu haben, für den Fall, dass ihn die Vergangenheit einholen sollte und sie ihre Familie verteidigen müssen.
