In der kalten Jahreszeit erzählt Shinobu die Geschichte der Fee des Winters, die zuerst lachen muss um schließlich zur Fee des Frühlings zu werden. Ataru hört jedoch nicht von der Geschichte, sondern trifft die kleine Fee persönlich, die verlernt hat zu lachen und ihn dazu bewegen will, ihr an einen Ort zu folgen, an dem es keine warmen Gefühle, sondern nur kühle Schönheiten zu bewundern gibt.
