Ash ist der Butler von Queen Viktoria. Als Teil seiner Aufgaben fungiert er als Mittelsmann zwischen Ciel Phantomhive und Victoria, da er ihre Befehle an Ciel weiterleitet und ein Auge auf deren Einhaltung hat. Daneben übernimmt er in Ernstfällen auch die Rolle eines Bodyguards für die Queen, die er bei ihren öffentlichen Auftritten stets begleitet. Dabei offenbart Ash eine außerordentliche Kampfkraft, die sogar an die von Sebastian heranreicht.

Ash ist sehr undurchsichtig, so dass man nie so genau weiß, was in ihm vorgeht. Nach außen hin wirkt er sehr selbstsicher und ruhig. Dieses lässt jedoch nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass er durchaus gefährlich werden kann, wenn es die Situation erfordert.
