Cecilia kommt ursprünglich aus Verona in der Lombardei und war eine Angehörige des Landadels. Zu ihrem vermeintlich großen Glück sollte sie eine arrangierte Eheschließung mit dem Prinzen von Savoyen eingehen, was ihren Adelsstand sehr verbessert hätte. Wie sich heraus stellte, wurde sie aber an ihn verkauft, damit er sich die Hörner abstoßen kann, da er schon längst einer politischen Heirat mit einer anderen Frau zugestimmt hatte. Als der lüsterne Prinz seiner perversen Spielchen mit Cecilia überdrüssig und sie zudem noch schwanger wurde, verkaufte er sie an Piraten die sie weiter verkauften, wodurch sie dann zu Bytone gelangte.

Trotz der Gefangenschaft und dem Leid, das sie erdulden musste, ist sie immer noch eine stolze und starke Frau, die sich niemandem beugt. Das resultiert aber nicht etwa aus Arroganz wegen ihrer adeligen Herkunft sondern aus ihrem starken Willen. Sie hegt die Hoffnung irgendwann ihre Tochter Flora wiedersehen zu können, die sie über alles liebt, obwohl sie beim Akt mit dem verhassten Prinzen gezeugt wurde. Wenn es um das Wohlergehen ihrer Tochter geht, wäre sie bereit, alles in Kauf zu nehmen.
