Die Mutter von Koushirou und Nanoka lebt in einer Stadt, die mit der Bahn eine Stunde von Tokio entfernt liegt und betreibt dort einen Friseursalon. Bis Nanoka nach Tokio gezogen war, lebte sie bei ihr, Koushirou hat sie jedoch nur selten gesehen seit er vor vielen Jahren mit seinem Vater auszog.

Makie ist eine freundliche, fürsorgliche Frau. Obwohl sie Koushirou lange Zeit nicht gesehen hat, empfängt sie ihn sofort herzlich und bemuttert ihn. Genau wie Zensou scheint sie Nanoka jedoch Koushirou vorzuziehen.
