Herr Shinoda ist Trainer in der Kamogawa Boxhalle von Genji Kamogawa und bei jedem Kampf eines der Boxer aus der Halle als Sekundant dabei. Richtig in Erscheinung tritt er erst in Masaru Aokis und Tatsuya Kimuras Hintergrundgeschichte, in der erklärt wird, wie die beiden zum Boxen kamen. Damals hatte die beiden Raufbolde kaum Disziplin und Anstand, sodass Shinoda sie mit seinem strengen Trainingsplan unter seine Fittiche nahm. Nicht selten trainiert Herr Shinoda sogar mit seinen Schützlingen wie z.B. beim Lauftraining, wobei seine Kondition natürlich nicht so stark ist wie die seiner Boxer.
