Mao und Tsukushi sind miteinander und mit Yaya Yuiki befreundet und gehen auch in dieselbe Klasse. Beide beteiligen sich an den von den Guardians organisierten Aktionen, den Besitzer eines kleinen Kätzchens ausfindig zu machen, wobei Tsukushi ihr zeichnerisches Talent ins Spiel bringt, indem sie ein Bild der Katze für die Flugblätter malt. Da sie den Wunsch hegt, später einmal Manga-Zeichnerin zu werden, kriegt sie ein ziemlich originalgetreues Bildnis zustande.
