Akitoki Houjou lebt in den Kriegerischen Zeiten von Japan. Er sieht dem Houjou aus Kagomes Zeit zum Verwechseln ähnlich, da er dessen Vorfahr ist.

Akitoki erscheint etwas ungeschickt und hilflos, aber ist von der Erfüllung seiner Aufgabe fest entschlossen. In seinem Besitz befindet sich das legendäre Flügelgewand, welches er zu beschützen hat.

Genauso wie sein Nachfahre, ist auch Akitoki sehr an Kagome interessiert.
