Prinzessin Diana ist alles andere als eine zarte Prinzessin, die sich für Interessen des Landes mit irgendeinem Prinzen verheiraten lassen würde. Stattdessen ist sie impulsiv, weiß mit einem Schwert umzugehen und schleicht sich hin und wieder aus dem Palast um sich unters Volk zu mischen und so dem langweiligen Leben einer Prinzessin zu entfliehen.

Weil sie nicht ruhig zusehen konnte, wie eine zur Versteigerung stehende Sklavin misshandelt wurde, hat sie diese gerettet und war noch bevor sie einen Gedanken an mögliche Folgen verschwenden konnte mit ihr aus der Stadt geflohen, dort von Nomaden gefangen und zusammen mit der eben geretteten Fina versklavt worden. Deshalb trifft Diana aber auf ihren Kindheitsfreund Shou, für den sie sofort allen bis dahin gezeigten Widerstand ablegt und willens seine Sklavin wird um zu verhindern, dass ihr Status als Prinzessin von Doria sie davon abhalten kann den Mann zu lieben, der plant ihren Vater, den König, zu töten.
