Er führt auf Befehl eine Untersuchung gegen Reinhard von Müsel durch, von wem dies beauftragt wurde, will er jedoch nicht verraten, auch wenn vermutet wird, dass Susanna von Benemunde die Auftraggeberin ist, er sagt lediglich, dass dies von weit oben befohlen wurde. Bei seinen Untersuchungen geht er sehr energisch zur Sache und er will Reinhard um jeden Preis bei einem Vergehen erwischen. Ständig begleitet ihn das Gefühl, das Reinhard auf ihn herabsehen würde, deswegen kann er ihn auch nicht ausstehen.

Wie von Reinhard erwartet, arbeitet er tatsächlich für Susanna von Benemunde.
