Anstatt sich konstruktiv zu beteiligen, schürt Naoya unter den Schüler-Repräsentanten lieber weiter Panik, indem er einstreut, dass sie sowieso nicht von der Insel herunter könnten, da man anhand der Einschusslöcher am angespülten Wrack sehen könnte, wie gefährlich eine Flucht sei. Er entscheidet schnell, dass er den anderen in der Runde nicht trauen kann und seine Leute die Dinge lieber selbst in die Hand nehmen - als Survival-Club sind die auf der Insel auch in ihrem Element und verschanzen sich im Wald. Naoya hofft außerdem auf eine Gelegenheit mit Maya Kenjou abzurechnen, die ihn einst abgewiesen hatte, was er sie nun büßen lassen will.
