Dieser korpulente Junge geht in die selbe Klasse wie Mayo, Osamu, Taiyou und Yoshiki und hängt ständig mit ihnen rum. Eines Tages wird er mitsamt seinen Freunden vom Prinzen der Dogura entführt und auf seinem Raumschiff als Geisel gehalten. Als Grund gibt er an, sie zu Rettern des Universums, sogenannten Color Rangers auszubilden, um das Böse auf den verschiedensten Planeten auszumerzen. Kunimitsu wird dabei zum Yellow Ranger.
