Aufgrund eines Fehlers, den sein Vater beging, verletzte er sich seine Schulter. Da er, um den Traum seines Vaters, einmal Profibaseballer zu werden, erfüllen zu können, schon sehr früh mit Hardfballs trainiert hat. Diese Bälle sind für Kinder sehr gefährlich, da es die Schultern zu sehr belastet. Da er nun seinen Wurfarm nicht mehr benutzen kann, bleibt ihm nichts anderes übrig, als Batter zu werden, wenn er denn weiterhin spielen will. Er kritisiert seinen Vater allerdings nicht für dessen Fehler, den Traum vom Profibaseball verfolgt er noch immer, nur nicht mehr als Pitcher, sondern als Batter.
