Ein junges Mädchen, das zufälligerweise über den Bürgersteig flaniert bis plötzlich Kaoru Koganei vor ihr steht. Diese hat ein Blick auf ihren Diamantring geworfen und nach genauerer Inspizierung, beißt sie kurzerhand ihren ganzen Finger ab und schluckt ihn mitsamt des Ringes herunter. Während das Mädchen vor Schmerzen schreit und ihre Wunde hält, muss Kaoru enttäuscht feststellen, dass der Schein trug, so wertvoll wie sie dachte, war der Diamant leider doch nicht.
