Im Gegensatz zu ihrer sehr gutmütig veranlagten älteren Schwester Atsuko legt Yui ein deutlich forscheres Auftreten an den Tag und lässt sich nicht so leicht unterkriegen. Allerdings stellt sie genau wie Atsuko den Wert der Familie über alles andere, denn deren Zusammenhalt will sie nicht gefährden, auch wenn sie dafür Opfer bringen muss, denn sie hat geschworen, ihrer Schwester immer beizustehen, wenn sie Probleme haben sollten. Weil sie jedoch gegenseitig einander beschützen wollen, erzählen sie sich nicht, was sie zur Zeit durchmachen in dem Glauben, nur so die Familie retten zu können: Atsuko nichts über die Erpressung durch ihren Schüler Kenji und Yui nichts über den Missbrauch durch ihren Vater.
