Hiyori Sarugaki ist neben Hirako Shinji die Anführerin der Vizards, die versuchen Ichigo Kurosaki auf ihre Seite zu ziehen. Hiyori ist äußerst aufbrausend, sehr schnell reizbar und lässt des Öfteren ihre Fäuste anstatt Worte für sich sprechen. Hirako wird besonders oft Opfer ihrer Wutausbrüche, obwohl Kisuke Urahara als ihr ehemaliger Kommandant auch einiges abbekommen hat. Hiyori scheint nach den Ereignissen in der Vergangenheit Menschen und Shinigami zu hassen. Von allen Vizards benötigte Hiyori am längsten um ihren inneren Hollow zu besiegen (um genau zu sein 69 min. und 2 sek.). Ihre Hollowmaske besitzt ein großes Horn auf der Stirn und wird des Öfteren seitlich von Hiyori getragen.
