Das Interesse an ETU gewann sie als Reporterin, nachdem sie Tatsumis Rede gehört hat, die zwar recht überheblich wirkte, aber wenn er wie geplant das japanische Fußball interessanter machen könnte, wäre es für sie als freiberufliche Journalistin sehr vorteilhaft, da es sich bei ETU um eine eher schlechtere Mannschaft handelt, wo Artikel sich sehr gut verkaufen würden, wenn diese Mannschaft wirklich erfolgreich wäre. Aber weil sie eine Freiberuflerin ist, riskiert sie sehr viel, denn basierend auf dieser Rede und der Hoffnung, dass ETU wirklich sehr stark spielen wird, riskiert sie ein Jahr, was für sie als Freiberuflerin herbe Rückschläge mit sich bringen würde, wenn ETU denn wirklich enttäuschen sollte.
