Der junge Seinoshin wurde kürzlich in die bekannte Saegusa-Familie adoptiert und soll eines Tages das Familiengeschäft übernehmen, worin er jetzt auch eingeweiht und dementsprechend als Erbe behandelt wird. Jedoch sehen das nicht alle so im Hause Saegusa. Seine neue Mutter zum Beispiel verachtet ihn regelrecht und behandelt Seinoshin wie Dreck. Darunter hat der junge Erbe schwer zu leiden, weshalb er sich mittlerweile von der ganzen Familie abgekapselt hat und nur noch Kontakt mit seinem Diener Yaichi und dem Nachbarssohn Heizaemon Yagi führt. Die beiden wissen auch von der aktuellen Situation und versuchen Seinoshin stets zu helfen.

Seinoshin besitzt durch eine Verbrennung eine äußerst große Narbe auf dem Rücken, welche die Form eines fünfteiligen Blattes hat.
