Ständig wird er von den anderen Kindern der Stadt aufgezogen, weil er sich nicht einmal ein neues Fahrrad leisten kann. Zudem hat er einen Alkoholiker als Vater, der ihn ständig ein paar Flaschen kaufen lässt. Selbst das Geld, das er sich selbst verdient hat, geht zu diesem Zweck drauf, dabei könnte er es selbst sehr gut gebrauchen, um sich beispielsweise ein neues Rad davon zu kaufen.
