Eines Tages fällt Suzu auf, dass vor ihrer favorisierten Konditorei andauernd ein kleines Mächen steht und traurig ins Leere schaut. Da beschließt sich Suzu, sie anzusprechen. Dabei lernt sie die Traurigkeit der kleinen Nene kennen, die jeden Tag an der gleichen Stelle steht und auf ihren verstorbenen Vater wartet. Sie weiß zwar genau, dass er nicht kommen wird, aber da ihre Mutter schon vor langem gestorben ist, hat sie sonst keinen Platz, an den sie hin kann.
