Im Gegensatz zu ihrer besten Freundin Hajime Usami ist Sayo nicht ganz so euphorisch angesichts der leicht schrägen Mitgliederschaft jenes Clubs, in den Hajime an ihrer neuen Schule gerne eintreten möchte. Nichtsdestotrotz spielt sie das Spielchen mit, kann es sich aber nicht verkneifen, sich über das Kunsthandwerk im Club auf verschiedenste Weise lustig zu machen.

Sie wirkt oft so, als sei ihre Laune nicht die beste und kann auch recht aufbrausend werden, und zwar dann, wenn jemand Hajime kritisiert. Derjenige bekommt es dann mit ihrer schon erwähnten spitzen Zunge zu tun. Während Hajime über die Vielfalt des traditionellen Handwerks, das im Club behandelt wird, hellauf begeistert ist, kann die wesentlich nüchterner veranlagte Sayo über die skurrile Ausmaße annehmenden Aktivitäten nur resignierend den Kopf schütteln.
