Weil Ren Mihashi der einzige Pitcher in seiner Mannschaft ist und man an einen möglichen Ausfall denken muss, wird Oki nicht nur als Feldspieler trainiert, sondern auch als Pitcher. In der Vergangenheit konnte er schon ein wenig Erfahrung sammeln, indem er in ein paar Spielen als Pitcher auf dem Mound stand. Adlerdings nicht wirklich oft, weswegen er sich selbst nicht sicher ist, ob er für diese Position geeignet ist. Am liebsten wäre es ihm also, wenn Mihashi nie vom Mound runter muss. Als Feldspieler und Batter ist er sowieso wesentlich besser. Obwohl er erst im ersten Jahr der High School ist, kann er bereits jetzt mit wesentlich erfahreneren Spielern mithalten.
