Elises Geist findet keine Ruhe, weil sie unter schicksalhaften Umständen verstarb: Sie wurde an einen Mann zwangsverheiratet, der sie nur aus politischen Gründen zur Frau genommen hatte und sie nur wie Dreck behandelte. Weil er zudem sich nur zum eigenen Geschlecht hingezogen fühlte, hegt Elises Geist nun eine tiefe Abneigung gegen Homosexuelle und wandert seit ihrem Tod von Körper zu Körper auf der Suche nach Erfüllung. Wegen des Fehlens eines eigenen physischen Empfindens bleibt in ihr jedoch immer das Gefühl einer großen Leere bestehen.
