Lycoris ist ein Mädchen aus der Dämonenwelt, das aus Nerines Zellen geklont wurde. Tatsächlich war sie es, die Rin Tsuchimi vor acht Jahren traf und sich in ihn verliebte, da sie damals an Nerines Statt in die Menschenwelt ging. Nerine lag zu diesem Zeitpunkt schwer krank im Bett - als sich ihr Zustand verschlechterte, opferte Lycoris freiwillig ihr Leben um Nerine zu retten, transferierte dabei aber auch sämtliche Erinnerungen und auch ihre Gefühle für Rin an sie.

Randnotiz:
Die Namen aller Charaktere in SHUFFLE! haben etwas mit Blumen zu tun und auch dieser ist keine Ausnahme. Lycoris ist der botanische Gattungsname für die in Asien mit etwa 20 Arten verbreiteten Spinnenlilien. In manchen englischen Fansubs wurde die Schreibweise in »Licorice« geändert, was der englische Begriff für Süßholz bzw. Lakritze ist, womit die ursprüngliche Namensbedeutung verfälscht wurde.
