Als Leiterin der Theater-AG verfügt die hübsche und freundliche Chris über umfassendes Wissen, was die Verkleidung angeht, die das Phantom während der Entführung von Himiko Sakae getragen hat. Es handelt sich um ein angeblich Unheil bringendes Kostüm, das vor Jahren schon einmal mit dem Verschwinden eines Mädchens in Zusammenhang gebracht und ursprünglich für ein mittlerweile verbotenes Theaterstück angefertigt wurde. Das Skript dieses Stücks sowie das Kostüm wurden weggesperrt, aber in jüngerer Zeit gestohlen. Die Geschichte um das verfluchte Phantom-Kostüm gehört zu den sieben großen Mysterien der Ousaka Academy.

Chris ist die Tochter eines berühmten Hypnotiseurs, von dem sie einige Tricks wie etwa die Massenhypnose gelernt hat. Gemeinsam mit Aki Mori, der Chefin des Detektiv-Klubs, hat sie die Entführung von Himiko Sakae fingiert, um so die detektivischen Leistungen von Keisuke auf die Probe zu stellen. Ihre hypnotischen Talente und ihre Erfahrung als Schauspielerin haben sie zur perfekten Kandidatin für die Rolle des Phantoms »Magician« gemacht.
