Die Mutter von Ui Nakatsugawa feuert ihre Tochter tatkräftig beim Hikonan-Rennen an und macht hier im Gegensatz zu ihrem Gatten einen recht unbekümmerten Eindruck. Sie kennt ihre Tochter einfach nur allzu gut, weiß ganz genau wo ihre Stärken liegen, aber ebenso auch ihre Schwächen. Sie merkt deshalb sehr schnell, dass sie Kazuma Hoshino nicht nur als Freund gerne mag. Was für sie nicht weiter verwunderlich ist, ähnelt er doch von seinem Charakter ihrem Bruder Hajime sehr, in den sie regelrecht vernarrt gewesen ist. Aus diesem Grund gibt sie Ayumu, den Bruder von Kazuma, den Rat aufzupassen, dass Ui ihm nicht ihn wegschnappt, was zwar als Scherz gemeint gewesen ist, aber an dem wohl trotzdem auch etwas Wahres dran ist.
