Emilio versucht seine Großmutter Ethel zu beschwichtigen, dass sie noch Glück hatten, dass bei dem Verkehrsunfall, in den sie geraten sind, niemand verletzt wurde, aber sie ist so völlig aufgelöst über die zerstörte Hochzeitstorte, die für seine Schwester bestimmt war, dass sie nichts trösten kann. Über Mari Tennoujis unverhoffte Hilfestellung ist er zwar sehr froh, zeigt sich aber anfangs noch skeptisch ob sie wirklich in der kurzen Zeit eine neue Torte anfertigen kann.
