Kaleido Ruby ist die Mahou Shoujo-Form von Rin Tohsaka, die Phantasmoon zu Hilfe eilt, um sich mit ihr gegen ein Monster zu verbünden, das aus Kaleido Rubys Welt entkommen ist. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Anspielung auf Fate/hollow ataraxia, woraus dieser Charakter stammt.

Hintergrund aus dem Fate-Universum:
Der „Kaleidostick“, der Rins Transformation ermöglicht, ist ein magischer Gegenstand der sogenannten Second Magic, welche mit dem Verknüpfen von Parallelwelten in Zusammenhang steht. Der Zauberstab transferiert die Erfahrungen und Kräfte von alternativen Parallelwelt-Formen auf den Träger. Der Stab spielt eine wichtige Rolle sowohl in Fate/hollow ataraxia als auch in Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Ilya.
