Genauso wie sein Kumpel Ono Kiyomura irrt sich Suginokouji hinsichtlich dessen, für welche Sportart das Qualifikationsturnier im nördlichen Kanto der Präfektur gedacht ist. Während Kiyomura offenbar glaubt, es handelt sich um ein Ausscheidungsturnier zum präfekturialen Turnier im Bereich Fußball, nimmt Suginokouji an, es handle sich um ein Baseball-Turnier. Mehr ist auch über ihn gar nicht bekannt, weil es seine einzige Szene im Anime darstellt, im Manga nimmt er eine wesentlich größere Rolle ein.
