Matsumoto gehört mit Okada und Yoshii zu den drei Störenfrieden innerhalb der Klasse, die besonders Klassensprecherin Hoshina das Leben schwer machen, weil die es ihnen irgendwie nie recht machen kann.
Sie ist die Lebhafteste des Trios und hat einige lustige Szenen; aufgrund mangelnder Eigeninitiative plappert sie aber Okada oft gedankenlos alles nach. Mit ein wenig mehr Charakterstärke könnte sie womöglich ein richtig nettes Mädchen sein.
