Maki lässt sich von Rie in die Falle locken und so fällt auch sie unter den Bann von Jouji, ohne dass es zu gewalttätigen Auseinandersetzungen kommt, denn da hätte die versierte Kickboxerin sicher die Oberhand behalten. Im Folgenden überträgt sie die Führerschaft ihrer Gruppe an Jouji, worüber die Mitglieder zwar murren, aber dennoch ihrer Anordnung gehorchen. Außerdem beginnt sie sich für gleichgeschlechtliche Liebe zu interessieren, wobei es sich nicht genau sagen lässt, ob das durch das Ritual erst hervorgerufen wurde oder es eine latente Veranlagung zum Vorschein gebracht hat. Auf jeden Fall lebt sie ihre Bedürfnisse fortan mit Rie aus, wenn ihr Meister anderweitig beschäftigt ist.
