Kai war der ehemals beste Freund von J.D. - Als dieser in sein Dorf kam und vom Dorfältesten aufgenommen wurde, hatte es sich Kai zur Aufgabe gemacht, dem Artefakt J.D. ein Lächeln zu entlocken. Er kam jeden Tag zu Besuch und erzählte dem noch immer schweigenden Neuankömmling die verschiedensten Dinge und hoffte darauf, dass dieser ihm antworten würde. Als Kai ihn dann eines Tages auf das berühmte Sonnenblumenfeld seines Dorfes brachte, konnte J.D. endlich lachen und sprach mit ihm. Nach einiger Zeit starb Kai jedoch an einer unbekannten Krankheit.
