Kodama lebt zusammen mit ihrem Großvater Odama auf der Feuerwerksinsel. Sie hat beide Eltern während des letzten Feuerwerkfestes verloren, als ein Feuerwerkskörper zu früh explodiert ist. Nun versucht sie, in Gedenken an ihre Eltern, den Abschuss zu wiederholen, nur dieses Mal ohne Zwischenfall, aber ihr Großvater ist strikt dagegen.
