Akagi-sensei ist ein strenger Verfechter von Disziplin an der Schule und gerät des Öfteren heftig mit Schülerinnen wegen Verstößen gegen die Schulregeln aneinander, und seien es nur Lappalien wie das Laufen auf den Fluren. Manchmal tut es ihm nachher selbst leid, wegen einer Nichtigkeit ausgerastet zu sein, aber sich zu entschuldigen kommt für ihn dennoch nicht in Frage. Seinen Kollegen Haruhiko Shimotsuki beneidet er etwas, weil er sich so gut mit Tagami-sensei versteht, in die er heimlich verknallt ist, aber sich in ihrer Gegenwart viel zu linkisch aufführt, als dass sie das bemerken oder er es offen aussprechen würde.
