Ein unbeschwertes Leben war Kouhei nie gegönnt, mit dem frühen Tod seiner Eltern arrangierte er sich aber irgendwie. So verbrachte er trotzdem eine schöne Jugend, schloss Freundschaften und war ein sehr aufgewecktes Kind gewesen. Bis zu jenem Tag, an dem seine Schwester wegen einer schweren Krankheit verstarb. Für ihn brach mit ihrem Ableben eine Welt zusammen und erlitt einen schweren Schock, der zum Gedächtnisverlust führte.
