Zenigata zieht sich von seinem Beruf als Inspektor zurück, als Arsène Lupin scheinbar ums Leben kommt. Da durch den Tod seines Widersachers sein Lebenssinn verschwunden ist, sorgt er lieber dafür, dass dessen Seele Ruhe findet. Bis er von Kazami ein Bild gezeigt bekommt, auf dem Lupin eindeutig zu identifizieren ist und beweist, dass er noch am Leben ist. Fortan bilden Zenigata und Kazami ein Team, das Lupin nachjagt.

Wie sich später herausstellt, handelt es sich bei Kazami eigentlich um ein Mitglied des Fuuma Clans.
