Viele interessieren sich für Kazuo nur, weil dieser als Sportler äußerst erfolgreich ist, doch wirklich als Freunde kann man diese Leute nicht bezeichnen. Toshie hingegen ist eine wirklich gute Freundin, die er zwar selbst gerne einmal als Last bezeichnet, da sie noch immer an alten Gepflogenheiten aus dem Kindergarten festhält, doch unterstützt sie ihn zu jeder Zeit. Anders als seine anderen »Freunde« weicht sie in Problemsituationen nicht von seiner Seite und ist ihm wirklich eine Stütze.
