Das erste Mal wird Black Jack mit dem Moira Syndrom konfrontiert, als er das junge Mädchen Lisa Siegel behandelt. Als er sie vor wenigen Jahren einmal behandelte, konnte er sie eigentlich heilen, doch nachdem er einige Jahre später wieder gerufen wird, muss er feststellen, dass sie erneut schwer erkrankt ist. Verblüfft stellt er auch fest, dass ihre inneren Organe nicht mehr mit dem eines Kleinkindes vergleichbar sind, denn diese sind inzwischen so sehr veraltet, dass man meinen könnte, man hat eine 90-jährige Frau vor sich, worauf sich Black Jack aber kein Reim machen kann.
