Dinghy sind kleine Schiffe, die einem Surfbrett mit Segel sehr nahekommen und sich auch genauso steuern lassen. Für den Weltraum sind sie demnach völlig ungeeignet. Als auf der Odette II zufällig einige Exemplare von ihnen gefunden werden, entschließt sich der Yachtclub dazu am kommenden Nebula Cup, einem Dinghy-Rennen, teilzunehmen. Insbesondere das neue Mitglied Ai Hoshimiya kann von ihnen gar nicht die Finger lassen, doch wer am Turnier von ihnen schließlich teilnehmen darf, wird von Teilzeitlehrer Kane McDougal durch ein Wettrennen im Windsurfen ermittelt.
