Die alte Dame ist nach fünfzig Jahren in ihre Heimatstadt zurückgekehrt und sucht dort nach einem großen Kampferbaum, mit dem sie Erinnerungen an ihre erste Liebe verbindet. Sie hatte dort als Oberschülerin einem anderen Schüler einen Liebesbrief überreicht und auch wenn er sie abgewiesen hatte und sie etwas später ihren Ehemann kennen lernte, erinnerte sie sich jetzt wieder an damals und möchte den Baum unbedingt noch einmal sehen.
Ganz genau weiß sie nicht mehr, wo er stand, doch Otome Arisugawa, von der sie fast umgerannt worden wäre, hilft ihr bei der Suche.
